Euripides' 'The Bacchae' comes to the Greek stage directed by Javor Gardev, with a special appearance by the British band The Tiger Lillies, who perform live onstage. A co-production of the Athens Epidaurus Festival with the Ivan Vazov National Theatre of Bulgaria and the National Theatre of Northern Greece, with a mixed Greek-Bulgarian cast including Samuel Finzi and Loukia Michalopoulou. A crucial question about society's tolerance for destabilization, as Dionysian frenzy tests the limits of civilization, law, and our self-image.
